Safety and compliance statement

This statement appears on every WEA quote. It is a promise to the client about the standards the completed work will meet and the documentation the client will receive on completion.

Standards

All installation work complies with:

  • AS/NZS 3000:2018 — Electrical installations (Wiring Rules)
  • AS/NZS 3008.1.1 — Selection of cables (as applicable)
  • AS 2293.1/.2/.3 — Emergency lighting and exit signs
  • AS/NZS 3017 — Verification (testing at completion)
  • AS 3439 — Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies

Where a newer standard has been published but has not yet taken effect, WEA installs to the current standard and flags the forthcoming change to the client if it affects future maintenance.

Certification delivered on completion

Every completed job results in the following documents, delivered to the client within 5 business days of practical completion:

  1. Certificate of Electrical Safety (CES) — lodged with Energy Safe Victoria as required.
  2. Compliance Certificate — WEA's own testing and verification report showing the results from pricing-labor-tier commissioning work.
  3. As-built drawings — where the project scope includes switchboard or sub-main changes. Drawings are provided in PDF and, on request, in editable CAD format.
  4. Warranty statement per warranty-policy.
  5. Operations and maintenance manual — for switchboards, emergency lighting systems, and critical equipment.

RCD protection

Every new or altered final circuit rated ≤ 20 A must be protected by a Residual Current Device per Wiring Rules clause 2.6. WEA does not quote to non-compliant RCD configurations — if the client requests otherwise, the Quotes Desk must decline and escalate.

Working near energised parts

WEA does not perform live works as a matter of policy. If a task cannot be performed dead, the job is rescheduled for a client shutdown window. If the client requires live works against this policy, it is priced as a hazardous-environment modifier per markup-rules and requires Operations Manager sign-off before quote release.

Site inductions and safety management

  • Every WEA technician attending site holds current White Card, Test and Tag, Low Voltage Rescue, and CPR certifications.
  • WEA will complete the client's site induction at no charge for the first attendance; subsequent re-inductions required by client policy (e.g., 6-monthly re-induction) are billed at apprentice labor rate per pricing-labor for the time involved.

Insurance

WEA maintains:

  • Public Liability: $20M
  • Professional Indemnity: $5M
  • Workers Compensation as required under the Victorian Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act

Certificates of currency are provided on request, typically within one business day of the request being received.
